As former College Dems President of FL, and longstanding Dem, I feel it is vital to represent the younger and up and coming generation of Dems. We are the next leaders. It is important to ensure I or any candidate is representing and helping build the strong coalition of the next generation of leaders. Having the endorsement would mean you have faith and trust that I will do that.

he main topics I am running on are the Environment, Affordable Housing, and Small/Local Business Support. These topics come from the voices of everyday residents concerns. I hope to aid all three categories in the following ways:
Environment: Be an environmental steward by voting for pro-environmental resolutions or building standards to ensure we are doing the very best in protecting our river and natural spaces.
Affordable Housing: Find additional grant funding for affordable housing and help create mixed use housing so that residents of every income can afford to live in a space they truly feel is theirs.
Local Businesses: Local Businesses have felt the effect of COVID and subsequent economic collapse. It is important we help uplift them in these times so they stay in SMTX.

I would 100% support that. I believe this is free speech and tenants should be allowed to organize in anyway they feel the need to.
-
There are currently a few affordable housing areas within SMTX, but not enough to sustain us. With my grant expertise, I would like to see what else is out there state wide and federally to give us additional CDBG or other types of dollars to create more affordable housing or mixed use housing within the City.
-
I would. I would also like to see the statistics on how many residents outside of SMTX are relying on SCC so that additional Cities can assist in funding this great organization. As we know in SMTX, our budget for Social Services is limited to $750k. With requests for assistance doubling this budget, orgs across the board are needing help. I would be interested in finding more ways we can support SCC and more.
-
I would. We cannot solely rely on our own vehicles. It is vital to build the appropriate infrastructure to give residents and visitors the option to walk, bike, and use public transit to limit the amount of cars on the road.
-
I do not support the actions of ICE nor police departments supporting their efforts. ICE is catastrophic to families and residents just trying to get by. I have been to protests and fundraisers to assist those impacted and will continue to stand by our neighbors.
-
I do not support the use of ALPRs or AI Policing simply because it is a violation of privacy. While I can understand the arguments for. There seem to be little to no safeguards to ensure we are using this technology correctly. For example, using Flock, a Kentucky police officer stalked his ex girlfriend over 2,000 times. Simply for that reason alone, I would not be for any of this tech until safeguards are put in place to protect those it is being used against. Even then, it is dangerous technology. It would take a lot for me to even think about voting for this. I have publicly addressed this on my social media.
-
AI Data Centers have no business in this City or any other. They take up the precious resources and are abhorrent. I agree with the ban that SMTX pursued, but I do think also about how this then pushes those Data Centers to the outskirts, potentially affecting our neighbors who do not get a say whether Data Centers pop up in their backyard or not. I have publicly addressed this issue on my social media.

I think the biggest thing here is trusting what the scientists and experts say or we are in real trouble in ten years time. If we do not start thinking smarter about our water consumption, our children and their children will be facing more serious conditions than we already are in.

I do. Free Palestine. What is happening there is devastating and indeed a genocide.
